Qatar Petroleum (QP) yesterday donated four ambulances, one each to Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani’s Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Sheikh Eid bin Mohamed Charity Association.
The support for the charitable organisations came under the directives of HE Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry and CMD of QP, and was in line with the corporation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The formal handover ceremony held in Dukhan was presided over by Abulrahman Abdulla al-Obaidly, acting manager of public relations and communications, in the presence of other senior QP officials, including Khalid Yousuf al-Sahlawi, manager of integrated facilities, and Abdulla Ghaith al-Kuwari, manager of field support (Dukhan Fields).
Also present at the event were senior officials and staff of the charitable organisations concerned. The ambulances were received by Abdulla al-Dosari, manager of the in-kind donation department of Qatar Charity, Hasan Dallol, co-ordinator of public health at QRCS, Ayedh al-Qahtani, general manager of RAF and Haitham Hassan, resources development officer of Sheikh Eid bin Mohamed Charity Association. The representatives of the four organisations expressed gratitude to QP for its continuous support to their humanitarian and charity campaigns. This is the second time in the past four months that QP has handed over ambulances to local charitable organisations to be used in their medical and humanitarian activities.
