Arab countries have been blessed with multiple natural and human resources, which if well employed would provide security, peace and honourable life for the Arab people, said HE the Minister of Economy and Finance Yousef Hussein Kamal yesterday at the preparatory meeting of the Economic and Social Council for the 24th Arab Summit.

He said that making the best use of natural resources needs agreements and all decisions of the former summits and the current one have to be implemented in tangible actions that reflect on the life of people.

He stressed that the activation of the greater Arab free trade zone is an ultimate priority for supporting the process of Arab economic integration. “In the meantime, great focus should be given to the issues of agriculture development and the Arab food security programme as Arab and international priorities because of the considerable food shortage in the world,” he said.

The minister said that encouraging small and medium size enterprises is key to providing jobs for the young people and achieving the targets of economic development in the Arab world.
