Amy Johnson, director of The Look Company in Qatar, and Robert Bruce Johnson, consultant and lawyer for Heenan Blaikie in Qatar, have been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for their achievements in Qatar and their exceptional service to Canada, internationally.
Amy’s family started The Look Company in 1998 in Canada before opening the second manufacturing facility in the Middle East in Doha. She has spent the last eight years in Qatar. “I’m very proud to be recognised in Canada for my achievements in my home of Qatar; it is a great honour,” Amy said.
“We are grateful for the opportunities that have been provided to The Look Company and look forward to helping Qatar prepare for the next huge milestone, the FiFa 2022 World Cup,” she added.  The Look Company had worked with the Qatar 2022 Bid Committee in support of the FiFa bid. Its 4,500sqm digital textile printing facility is the largest in the Middle East, boasting of high-quality workmanship by experienced staff.
Bruce has recently opened Heenan Blaikie’s regional rep office in Doha. Living full-time in Qatar since 2011, he works closely with Canada’s 20th Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, and facilitates Canadian and American businesses “setting up and winning  business” in Qatar.
With a strong business and Hollywood finance and production background, Bruce is also hoping to volunteer and contribute to Qatar’s budding entrepreneurial and film communities. “I am very proud to be part of helping Qatar achieve its 2030 vision by bringing Canada and Qatar closer together,” he said.
The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne as Queen of Canada.
