Two Hamad Medical Corporation’s building projects have been recognised for excellence in their design at prestigious regional awards ceremonies.
The Positron Emission Tomography (PET CT) Centre situated at HMC’s National Centre for Cancer Care and Research was awarded “Best Designed Hospital Facility in the Middle East” at the Hospital Build and Infrastructure Middle East Exhibition and Congress held in Dubai last week.
The award was accepted by Facilities and Workforce Development Group chief Hamad al-Khalifa, who headed a delegation of four engineers from HMC’s Healthcare Facilities Development Department comprising - Naeem Younis, Bernadette Farrell, Amro Metwalli and Yahya Taher - to the event.
In a further recognition of HMC’s commitment to developing high quality facilities, the corporation also won an award at the Cityscape Qatar 2013 Exhibition held in Doha last month.
Also, HMC’s Skilled Nursing Facility was awarded the Community and Culture Project award.
This is the second year in a row that HMC took home this award.
Al-Khalifa said that HMC’s Healthcare Facilities Development Department strove to maintain the highest international standards in the corporation’s facilities saying.
“These two prestigious awards are recognition of our dedication to continually improving and developing our facilities.
“Being recognised by our peers in the construction and engineering industries is a great honour. Creating a caring and restorative environment enables us to provide the highest levels of safe, effective and compassionate care to our patients,” he said.
