QNB has launched new Internet banking with several features that are aimed at providing customers with “simpler and more convenient” services.

“With the new features, customers will be now able to experience a level of convenience never achieved by banks in Qatar. They will be able to automate their bill payments, manage standing orders and automatic transfers, get copies of their account statements in PDF format, access expanded prepaid services and paying bills with their credit cards to faster accumulate loyalty points,” QNB said.

“Qatar deserves the best and QNB is clearly bringing the best to the fingertips of its customers with its recently awarded Internet banking service,” the bank said in a statement.

With automatic bill payment, which QNB says is the first of its kind in Qatar, customers will now have a “fantastic service” whereby bills will be paid automatically, without the need to worry about performing the transaction every month. Customers will be able to choose a specific date of the month to have their bills paid as well as the method of payment (current account or credit card).

QNB Internet banking will automatically then process all those payments according to customer settings. Customers will be offered the option to cancel any of the payments via SMS for additional convenience and security. As a result, while customers get their bill payments automated, they remain in full control of the monthly payment.

Standing orders (automatic transfers) is another way to simplify banking, QNB said. Customers can now select the amount they want to regularly (for example monthly) transfer to a beneficiary on a monthly basis and QNB Internet banking will take care of the rest. No need to manually set up on a monthly basis.

The new PDF statement feature provides customers with the convenience to access and download their detailed monthly account statement issued by QNB.  This feature will be in addition to the existing e-statement service where customers can choose to receive account and card activity details in their e-mails on a daily and monthly basis.

Bill payment service has expanded to include Ooredoo mobile broadband service and Vodafone prepaid services. With this, bill payment in Internet banking covers most of the communication services customers use in Qatar.

QNB customers can access Internet banking for free by visiting ib.qnb.com.qa. For customers who are not registered yet, registration is “simple”, QNB said.

Customers can register using their active debit/credit card number and PIN.
