QIB launches ‘new, improved’ website
Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced the launch of its new website with an enhanced look and feel, comprehensive content, simplified navigation and helpful features for visitors to use. Moreover, QIB has added a new and easier domain - www.qib.qa“While we are still happy to serve our customers from our 31 conveniently located branches with over 170 ATMs and cash deposit machines (CDMs), we realise that more and more of our customers prefer online banking to get to know about our products and services and get access to their account information. Qatar has witnessed a quantum leap in Internet penetration by reaching over 80% of the population, while more than 25% are regularly accessing the Internet through mobile devices. This is proof that time spent using traditional channels is shifting online, which encourages us to identify customers, engage with them and serve them online too,” said Bassel Gamal, QIB’s Group CEO.The new QIB website is part of the overall evolution of the bank’s electronic channels. As Internet penetration and the acceptance of online banking are increasing, QIB has seen major milestones to meet its customers’ expectations. “Our ultimate objective is to provide an end-to-end experience to our customers using electronic channels in a seamless, secured and fast manner,” Gamal added. The design has been improved to better reflect QIB’s identity, which is that of a progressive Islamic bank. The content has seen many new add-ons, including sections devoted to Tamayuz and private banking clients and a new informative section for corporate and business banking (Aamaly) clients. The bank has also introduced a “useful tools” section, which gives access to features such as currency converter, prayer times, weather, card comparator, branches & ATMs locator and finance calculator. Customers can now apply online for the different products the bank is offering like financing, cards and Takaful. In addition, QIB had earlier this year launched its mobile banking application for smartphones using different operating systems such as iOS, Blackberry, Windows and Android. The QIB online banking site provides customers with a convenient Internet experience to check their accounts and execute transactions anytime, anywhere. Besides, the bank has improved its free-of-charge e-statement solution to enable customers to receive their banking statements whenever they require in a secure and convenient environment. QIB has also upgraded the interface of its ATM/CDM screens to make them friendlier to use, easier to navigate and execute transactions. It has dedicated customised screens for its affluent – Tamayuz – and private customers once they insert their customised debit cards. At the same time, QIB has expanded its ATM network across the country with over 170 ATMs/CDMs. QIB’s website can be accessed at www.qib.qa and is available in both English and Arabic.
