Fake tickets: Qatari family loses QR60,000
A Qatari and his family lost QR60,000 after a Syrian expatriate sold them fake air tickets to a European country, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday. The accused had offered the Qatari citizen tickets at a discount of QR2,000 each below the market price. The citizen subsequently paid QR60,000 for 11 tickets. But the family found out they had been duped only when they reached the airport. Seeing the disappointment of his family members, the citizen bought new tickets by paying QR72,000 and travelled on schedule. On their return to Qatar, the citizen found out that the swindler has many accusations against him in addition to a travel ban.
