Guardian Wealth Management Qatar LLC, the only FSA regulated independent financial advisory at the Qatar Financial Centre, yesterday became the official sponsor of the long running Doha Darts League, which has been a favourite of expats for decades.
Started in the 1980s and holding weekly league games every Wednesday evening at the Doha Rugby Club, the Darts League sees Doha residents from all over the world competing in teams of fifteen for number one spot.
Peter Hemingway, Secretary of the DDL, said: “We are very happy to have a major sponsor like Guardian Wealth commit to the league. Through their sponsorship we have been able to purchase a number of new electronic scoreboards, dartboards, surrounds and lighting, which will really add to the whole experience and help make everything look more professional on game nights.”
David Russell, CEO of GWM Qatar, said: “Being a Scotsman, I have to be a big darts fan, as it is one of the few sports my country is actually good at! I visited last year and saw that the league needed a bit of help, so am really glad that our sponsorship riyals have been put to good use, the games room is looking fantastic."
Darts is very popular with the expat community in Qatar.
