An exhibition of stamps was inaugurated at Arab Postal Museum in Katara to mark World Post Day celebrations on October 9.
Q-Post chairman Abdulrahman al-Aqaly inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Katara general manager Dr Khalid al-Sulaiti and Arab Postal Museum chairman Khalid Diab al-Mohannadi.
Speaking at the function, al-Mohanadi said: “The exhibition has shown how diverse the postal sector is across the world these days. The expo has on display stamps from all over the world and the stamps feature portraits, wildlife, children’s drawings, design and architecture, among other things.”
While inviting residents to the museum, al-Mohannadi said the exhibition would go a long way in providing a better understanding of important stamps pertaining to regional and international personalities, issues, institutions and several other aspects.
The stamps displayed at the exhibition, he pointed out, are owned by Arab Postal Museum. The exhibition will continue until October 25.
World Post Day is celebrated to commemorate the formation of Universal Postal Union, the apex body of postal corporations, headquartered in Berne, Switzerland.
