Rizlan and Taimoor turned in outstanding individual performance to set up victories for their respective teams in the QCA Division A Cricket League here at the West Bay Complex.

The Qatar Cricket Association is organising the League in three divisions at the West Bay grounds.

After Doha Club (Asian) skittle out Infinity Solutions Club for 166 in 43 overs, Rizlan went out to smash a superb 105 not out to power his team to an eight-wicket victory in 34 overs. Qamar Sadiq also chipped in with 17 runs.

Khurram hit Inifinity Solutions Club hard with his bowling and claimed five wickets. Khalid Delvi picked two. Moazzam and Naeem batted with some resolution and application as they scored 65 and 41, respectively.

Taimoor’s deadly bowling devastated Qatari Diar Club, who could manage only 111 in 28 overs against Commercial Bank Club. His stirring six-wicket haul included a hat-trick as well. Abbas and Ali grabbed the remaining wickets between them.

Habeeb (27) led the chase for Commercial Bank as they achieved the target in 25 overs, losing only four wickets. Zaheer and Kamran made 19 runs each.

Al Feroz Youngster also posted a one-sided 10-wicket victory against Wings DCC in another match. Boota excelled and grabbed five wickets to send Wings crashing to 58 all out in 23 overs. Then he and Faisal finished unbeaten on 28 and 25 to fashion the triumph.

Blazing century by Omar; Naseeb grabs five wickets

Omar’s fiery batting carried McDonald’s Club to a five-wicket victory against Commercial Bank ‘B’ in the QCA Division B Cricket League.

Batting first, Commercial Bank piled up 206 for five in 24 overs as Ali cracked 79 and Adnan hit 41. Ahmed took three wickets to be the pick of the bowlers of McDonald’s Club.

Commercial Bank failed to defend the big total after Omar launched an onslaught. His 112 not out inspired the team to seal the victory off the last ball, which was smashed for a six. Shiney made 35 and Arnold got a useful 23.

Salam Energizers Club contrived a narrow five-run triumph against Doha Bank in another match. Batting first, Salam put up 155 for six in 22 overs on the board. Manoj played the most notable knock of 61.

Salam however fought back and restricted the rivals at 150 for nine in 22 overs. Manoj and Mihira batted well to hit 46 and 42, respectively. Showbez led the downfall with three wickets. Aneesh, Sherish and Noushi all collected two wickets each to maintain the pressure from both the ends.

Naseeb Khan starred in a five-wicket victory for Khan Eleven as he grabbed five wickets against Gulf Contracting Club. He limited GCC to 125 all out in 21 overs. Khan Eleven raced to the victory in 18 overs with Mukhtar Khan hitting 38 not out. Nazim Khan hit 31.

Faheem’s stylish 63 inspired Shah Club to a convincing 37-run victory against PCA and United Challengers defeated Q-Chem by five wickets. Denzil showed a fine touch to get 64 for the winners.
