My family and colleagues join me in conveying our warm greetings and best wishes to everyone at Gulf Times on its 35th anniversary.

I have been an avid reader of Gulf Times since coming to Doha last year and my day starts with sipping hot tea and browsing through its columns! I compliment the newspaper for its comprehensive coverage and stimulating editorials. I also enjoy the contents of Community.

Embassy of India has a regular and substantive interaction with the editors and reporters of Gulf Times in a spirit of mutual goodwill and respect.

We convey our deep appreciation to the Gulf Times team for the coverage of the historically friendly relations between India and Qatar. It is also heartening to see reporting of various events of the vibrant and highly regarded Indian community in Qatar.

Sanjiv Arora,

Ambassador of India

I wish to congratulate the management and staff of the Gulf Times on its 35th anniversary. Gulf Times epitomises quality journalism in Qatar and covers wide spectrum of events nationally and internationally. Its most important feature is coverage of events of different regions from where the majority of expat communities originate.

The quality of news and analyses produced in the columns are way above similar print publications. Gulf Times’ coverage of art, culture, social and business news is outstanding. Pakistani community living in Qatar has volumes to speak about the coverage of their local activities.

I do not have any hesitation to note that Gulf Times upholds values of multiculturalism and harmony among various communities living in Qatar. As Ambassador of a brotherly country, I extend my sincere felicitations to everyone associated with the newspaper.

Syed Hassan Raza,

Ambassador of Pakistan

The Embassy of the Republic of South Africa congratulates the Gulf Times as it celebrates 35 years of hard work and tireless commitment.

Indeed from humble beginnings, the Gulf Times has grown and continues to mature as a newspaper.

In line with the demographics of present day Qatar with its more than hundred nationalities, Gulf Times also provides the expat community with news and information of their respective countries that is well researched, current and informative.

For us Africans, the introduction of a dedicated page has come at an appropriate time given that the continent has assumed importance in the current global affairs. The association of the South African Embassy with the Gulf Times is a close one and highly valued.  Gulf Times is considered a “must read” for the embassy staff!

Dr Saad Cachalia

Angelika Storz-Chakarji,

It is with great pleasure that we have learned that Gulf Times is commemorating its 35th anniversary. Since my arrival to the State of Qatar, I have been able to follow up on the most significant local, regional and international events. The Gulf Times has succeeded in achieving the highest circulation and providing the widest coverage, while retaining a sense of immediacy and an open and thorough approach.  We especially appreciate and applaud the timely and wise initiative of dedicating a page to Latin America, which has allowed Qatar’s residents to get a closer look at our region’s realities.

Ernesto Daniel Plasencia Escalante

Ambassador of Cuba

The Philippine Government through its embassy in Doha and the Filipino Community in the State of Qatar extend their warmest congratulations to the Gulf Times management on the occasion of its 35th founding anniversary.

Being 35 years in the print media reflects the commitment of Gulf Times to fair and balanced reporting of news.

Hats off for this important milestone. Happy anniversary!

Showcasing Qatar to the world

Gulf Times occupies a clearly dominant position in terms of print advertising in Qatar. As the premier English daily in the region, its advertising revenues show a steady upward graph that bears testimony to the trust and appeal the broadsheet enjoys among the vast cosmopolitan community that constitutes its staunch support base in the Qatar region.

The advertising division has separate sections for Classifieds and the regular newspaper. In addition, there is the supplements wing which brings out exclusive special supplements on a regular basis, on varied sectors as automotive, oil & gas, tourism, healthcare, sports, education and hospitality among others.

Most important events, including fairs, exhibitions, seminars, cultural exchanges come within the gamut of such special supplements. Also, the national days and other significant days of almost all the nationalities that compose the vibrant cultural mosaic of Qatar are duly observed with commemorative issues on those days.

Another highlight is the regular overview of the newest and the best food joints in the region in its weekly Dine-Out guide, which has by now earned a cult-status.

Among the latest in the Gulf Times line-up is the first family lifestyle magazine in Qatar, Society, that covers almost every facet of fine living with insightful features on food, fitness, personality and beauty advice for all ages.

Serving as the major support arm for the Gulf Times enterprise, its advertising wing undertakes campaigns, promotions and support for multifarious events of every community as true members of society. It regularly implements novel concepts and titles to keep stride with the rapidly changing trends of the times.

James John, Advertising & Marketing Manager, Gulf Times.
