HE Nasser bin Ghanim al-Khelaifi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, expressed his enthusiasm at ExxonMobil Qatar’s continuous support for the tournament, and spoke of the company’s contributions to the Qatar ExxonMobil Open across the span of 20 years, as well as to other tennis tournaments organised by the QTF.
“Qatar Tennis Federation and ExxonMobil Qatar have now been partners on the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for 20 consecutive years, and we are enormously proud of this,” he said. “Our partnership with ExxonMobil Qatar is a key enabler for QTF to organise a high quality event for all in attendance, and to continue to define Qatar as a globally renowned and vibrant centre for world-class sporting events,” he added.
“We are extremely pleased to continue our support of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open,” said Bart Cahir, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc. “Our partnership with the Qatar Tennis Federation has culminated in tremendously successful tournaments for the benefit of Qatar’s residents year after year. I commend the efforts of the outstanding team at Qatar Tennis Federation led by Nasser al-Khelaifi for not only positioning this event as a premier international tournament, but also for providing an exciting, world-class event for the people of Qatar.”
The tournament will also feature several off-court events, such as Public Village, VIP Village, player autograph sessions in the ExxonMobil Qatar stand, a traditional souq, a kid’s zone, and various merchandising booths.
ExxonMobil Qatar staff will also provide several engaging and interactive educational and cultural activities at the company stand, appealing to the tournament’s young visitors.
ExxonMobil Qatar had also extended its support for the Youth Nationals tournament for the fourth year running, in co-operation with the Qatar Tennis Federation. Held from October 28-30, 2013, the tournament included 78 Qatari boys and girls of various ages. This particular sponsorship comes as part of ExxonMobil Qatar’s commitment to support and develop future Qatari tennis champions, while encouraging an interest in sports towards promoting healthy and active lifestyles among youth.
