HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev at the presidential palace in Astana yesterday. Qatar and Kazakhstan signed two agreements and a memorandum of understanding following a session of talks chaired by the two leaders. The talks were attended by the special representative of HH the Emir, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, and members of accompanying official delegation. After the talks, the Emir and President Nazarbayev witnessed the signing of two agreements. The first one was on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and the second was between Qatar Mining and Kazakhstan’s National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk. A memorandum of understanding between Qatar Investment Authority and Samruk Fund was also signed.
