Barwa signs deal for phase two of Al Baraha project

Barwa Real Estate yesterday signed a contract with CRC Dorra (Construction & Reconstruction Engineering Company) to build  Package 2 of the second phase of the Barwa Al Baraha project.The contract was signed on the third and final day of Barwa’s participation in Cityscape Qatar 2014. Barwa Al Baraha is the company’s largest development project being constructed for the benefit of workers in Qatar. Barwa’s participation in Cityscape saw it sign a number of agreements and complete all bookings for its latest project, Dara, in Lusail City. Dara started receiving bookings for the sale of its units on the first day of Cityscape Qatar 2014 and, by the early hours of the second day of the exhibition, all units were sold out.  On behalf of the Group acting CEO, Adel al-Abdelghani, director of Group Legal and Commercial Services at Barwa Real Estate, signed the contract with Mostafa Rajab, CEO of CRC Dorra, in the presence of project manager Abdulla Hijji and a number of Barwa Group directors.As part of the contract, the contractor will build elements of Package 2, which consists of 32 buildings of G+3 floors, with each building containing 130 rooms. This is in addition to constructing four dining halls, two playgrounds, two mosques as well as restaurants and utility shops. Package 2 will accommodate 24,000 workers.The Group is now utilising its capabilities to focus on projects for workers so as to raise their living standards and merge them within the community they live in. Upon completion, the project will feature 9,872 rooms for 53,000 workers and professionals.
