Doha launch for Toyota’s all-new Yaris Hatchback

Toyota, in association with Qatar distributor Abdullah AbdulGhani & Bros Co, yesterday launched in Doha, the all-new Yaris Hatchback with the slogan “Be Bold; Go Big.” |
The new car is available in two engine variants of 1.3L and 1.5L and with an option of nine exterior colours.
A special function was held to unveil the car at the Toyota Towers by Abdullah AbdulGhani & Bros Co. (AAB).
Dr Nasser Abdulghani al-Abdulghani, managing director, AAB, Takashi Obata, general manager Toyota Motor Corporation, Ghafoor Rawtaer, chief operating officer, AAB, R K Murugan, sales and marketing director, AAB and Hisham Ismail, sales manager, Toyota were among those present.
Dr. Nasser said the new car was not just for transportation alone.
He said: “It also inspires people. It excites their imagination and they are proud to show it to their family and friends. Moreover, it offers a rational engineering with the highest Toyota standards at an affordable price.”
Obata said customers are the first priority for Toyota. “Safety, fuel efficiency and quality are the guiding principles of Toyota, offering 100% customer satisfaction. The new Yaris Hatchback is bolder, bigger and exciting. It is not just a car but an emotional experience. It is a car for anyone who is young at heart. It is stylish, sporty and fun to drive,” he added.
The 1.5L engine Yaris can churn out a maximum output of 107HP and a maximum torque of 141/4200Nm/rpm, while the 1.3L engine can generate a maximum output of 84HP and maximum torque value of 121/4400Nm/rpm.
To enhance the driving experience, a lightweight and compact four-speed automatic transaxle has been used to offer an excellent response and smooth shifting with enhanced fuel efficiency.
The car also has comprehensive safety features and improved fuel economy to meet customer expectations.
It also has safety features such as Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD ) and Brake Assist.
The 2014 Yaris Hatchback has lower and bigger exterior dimensions than the current model to meet the needs of consumers. The new Yaris Hatchback is 215mm longer, 5mm wider, yet 45mm lower than its predecessor.
The nine exterior colour schemes available are super white, silver ME, grey ME, attitude black MC, red MM, orange ME, silky beige ME, greyish blue ME, and frozen blue ME while two colour schemes are available for the interior: black and the new ivory.
