Emir and Father Emir perform Eid prayer, receive well-wishers

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday performed the Eid prayer at Al Wajbah praying area.

HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, Personal Representative of HH the Emir, took part in the prayer along with HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani and a group of Sheikhs, ministers and citizens.

Dr Thaqeel Sayer al-Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer delivered the Eid sermon in which he urged Muslims to benefit from Eid al-Fitr in doing good deeds, maintaining ties with kinship as well as educating oneself. He also reminded worshippers of relieving those in need, defending the oppressed and standing by rights.

Scores of worshippers performed the Eid prayer in mosques and praying areas across the country.

Following the Eid prayer HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir received scores of well-wishers on Eid al-Fitr at Al Wajbah Palace.

They received Sheikhs, ministers, Advisory Council speaker and his deputy, ministries’ undersecretaries, Advisory Council members, and citizens.

They also received heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to Qatar as well as officers of the armed forces and police, and heads of national institutions and departments.

The well-wishers expressed their congratulations and blessings to HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir, the Qatari people and the Arab and Islamic nations.

HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, personal representative of HH the Emir, attended the reception along with HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani and a number of Sheikhs.

The Emir and the Father Emir also received Sheikhs and citizens, congratulating them on the advent of Eid al-Fitr. 

The Emir and the Father Emir expressed their best wishes to the attendees on the happy occasion.

Later the Emir met the children of Qatar Orphan Foundation (Dhreima) on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
