Qatar, Iran hold talks on boosting trade ties

Qatar’s Minister of Economy and Commerce HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has visited Iran, accompanied by a delegation that included a number of businessmen and CEOs of Qatari companies to discuss economic and trade relations between Qatar and Iran and ways to strengthen them.
During the visit, which came at the invitation by the Iranian side, HE the Minister met with the First Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri Kouhshahi where they exchanged views on aspects of co-operation between the two countries. The Iranian Vice President wished the State of Qatar success in achieving the development process and progress.
HE the Minister also held a session of talks with the Iranian Minister of Industry, Trade and Mines Mohamed Reza Nematzadeh, attended by a number of government officials from the two countries as well as businessmen and heads of Iranian and Qatari companies to review commercial relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them.
He also met with the Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayebnia and discussed with him the co-operation ties.
At the end of the two-day visit, which concluded yesterday HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Primary Materials Co (QPMC) and an Iranian company for importing Gabbro Aggregate and Fine Sand.
