Qatari Businesswomen Forum at Qatar Chamber (QC) held its first meeting yesterday headed by Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani, QC board member and chairman of the forum. In attendance were Qatari businesswomen Sheikha Reem Hamad al-Thani, Sheikha Noor Jassim al-Thani, Sheikha Munira bint Saud al-Thani and Jawahir Abdulrahman
al-Kuwari. Al-Ahmadani said that the forum aimed at establishing the role of Qatari women in the business field and giving Qatari businesswomen an opportunity to meet and discuss related topics with each other and experts in the field. It would also help in better co-ordination with government departments and give Qatari businesswomen more opportunities to be represented at local, Arab, regional and global economic entities. To be a member of the forum, the businesswoman should be a Qatari with running business and should not be less than 22 years old. She should also be the owner or a co-owner of a working company. It is also permissible to grant a honorary membership at the forum for the non-Qatari businesswomen with exceptional and distinguished expertise in their fields.
