HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met Pakistan army’s Chief of General Staff Rashid Mahmood in Islamabad yesterday.
They discussed topics of common interest.
Separately, the Emir also met the Speaker of Pakistani National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Islamabad yesterday.
Talks dealt with co-operation between Qatar and Pakistan and means of enhancing them.
The meeting was attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.
Earlier on arrival in the PAD Base Nur Khan, the Emir was accorded an official reception ceremony. He was received by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Pakistan’s Minister of Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Minister of Information Pervez Rasheed were present as well. Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan Saqr Mubarak al-Mansouri and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar Shahzad Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
In a statement upon arrival, the Emir expressed the greetings of the government and people of Qatar to President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan. The Emir expressed satisfaction and the level of bilateral relations and the development of co-operation in all fields.
