Qatar’s ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Maliki al-Juhani held a reception ceremony in celebration of the National Day. The event was attended by HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, Italian Foreign Minister Paulo Jantelaun, HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for International Co-operation Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, a group of Italian politicians, representatives of the Italian government along with a large number of Italian economic, social and academic figures as well as ambassadors of friendly countries in Italy.

Qatar’s embassies and diplomatic missions across the world marked the National Day, which is celebrated on December 18 of every year, in commemoration of the State’s founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani.
The Qatari diplomatic celebrations in world capitals drew high-level official and popular attendance that reflected Qatar’s excellent ties with world countries.
In Bern, Qatar’s ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein Dr Mubarak bin Kleifeng al-Hajeri has hosted a reception to mark Qatar National Day.
The function was attended by government members, parliamentarians, senior officials at the Foreign Ministry and representatives of Arab and foreign missions accredited to the Swiss Confederation.
It was also attended by a number of businessmen, heads of major Swiss banks, political, cultural, artistic, media, sport, partisan and religious figures.
In Geneva, Qatar’s permanent representative to the UN and other organisations in Geneva Faisal bin Abdullah al-Henzab has held a reception to mark the National Day.
Al-Henzab offered congratulations and blessings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and to the Qatari people on this dear occasion, wishing Qatar further progress and prosperity.
He said celebrations marking the National Day represent a landmark for prosperity, stability, security and development in Qatar in all fields.
The function was attended by a number of ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the UN office at Geneva, directors and ranking officials at international organisations in Geneva, in addition senior government officials in Geneva, ranking businessmen, banks managers, media representatives, as well as a number of Qatari nationals and members of Arab community in Switzerland.
Qatar National Bank, Qatar Airways, Katara Hospitality were also represented at the reception.
In Ottawa, Qatar’s ambassador to Canada Fahd Mohamed Youssuf Kafoud has hosted a reception to mark the National Day.
The reception was attended by senior official, military commanders, members of the Senate and the House of Commons and members of diplomatic missions accredited to Canada.
The embassy has organised a photography exhibition depicting the comprehensive development in Qatar.
In Pretoria, Qatar’s ambassador to South Africa Salem Abdullah al-Jaber held a reception at the Sheraton Hotel to mark the National Day.
The function was attended by Deputy Higher Education Minister Mduduzi Comfort Manana, who represented the government of South Africa, a number of civilian and military officials, parliamentarians, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to South Africa and an elite of businessmen and media representatives.
Ambassador Al-Jaber gave a speech in which he focused on the achievements realised in the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
He also reviewed the role of Qatar in the regional and international arenas in conflict resolution and peace building.
In Nairobi, Qatar’s ambassador to Kenya Ibrahim bin Mohamed al-Abdullah held a reception ceremony on the occasion of the National Day.
Director of the Middle East department at the Kenyan Foreign Ministry attended the ceremony along with director general of the UN office, members of the diplomatic corps, businessmen and media figures.
In Montevideo, Qatar’s ambassador to Uruguay Mohamed Hassan Jaber al-Jaber held a reception ceremony on the occasion of the National Day.
Senior political and military officials attended the ceremony in addition to representatives of government institutions, heads of Arab and foreign accredited diplomatic missions and a number of dignitaries, civil society leaders, businessmen and media figures.
Addressing the ceremony, HE the ambassador said the National Day stresses Qatar’s history and identity and embodies the model and hopes on which the State of Qatar was based.
HE Al-Jaber extended his sincere congratulations and blessings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and the Qatari people on the occasion of the National Day.
HE Qatar’s ambassador to Brunei Saleh bin Mohamed al-Nesf held a reception ceremony to mark the National Day at Rizqun International Hotel.
A large crowd led by Brunei’s minister of communication, who represented Brunei’s government, attended the ceremony alongside senior officials, heads of accredited diplomatic missions, media figures and Arab expats.
In Nicosia, Qatar’s ambassador to Cyprus Hussein Ahmed Mohamed al-Humaid held a reception ceremony at Hilton Park Hotel on the occasion.
Cypriot Minister of Defence Christoforos Fokaidis attended the ceremony on behalf of the Cyprus president. A large crowd of senior political and social figures were also present as well as businessmen and heads of Arab and Foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Cyprus.
HE the ambassador thanked the Cypriot defence minister for taking part in the celebration, wishing more progress and prosperity for bilateral ties between the two friendly countries.
For his part, the defence minister conveyed the congratulations of Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis to the government and people of Qatar on the occasion of National Day and his wishes of development and growth to bilateral relations.
The ceremony featured a photo gallery and a film narrating the story of Qatar’s development in all fields as well as national music segments.
In Kiev, Qatar’s ambassador to Ukraine Jassim bin Rashid al-Khalifa has hosted a reception at the Intercontinental Hotel to mark the National Day.
The function was attended by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Mykola Movchan, Director for Middle East and Africa at the Foreign Minister Andriy Zayats, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine and Chairman of the Qatari-Ukrainian Friendship Committee Andrey Artemenko, First Vice-President, Secretary General of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail I. Nepran, Director of Immigration Maksim Sokolov, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Ukraine, businessmen, representatives of government, national and academic departments, as well as the civil society, religious organisations and Arab communities in Kiev.
Al-Khalifa gave a welcome address in which he extended congratulations and blessings to HH the Emir, HH the Father Emir and the Qatari people on the occasion.
The ambassador focused on state’s achievements in the shadow of the wise leadership and the pioneering role the State of Qatar plays on regional and international levels since its foundation at the hands of the founder Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani and through the stages of its development and prosperity which rendered it one of the outstanding states in the Arab and international groups.
He also touched on the bilateral relations between Qatar and Ukraine, expressing pleasure over the level it had reached and wishing them further co-operation in various fields.
The General Consulate of Qatar in Houston in the US held a reception to mark the National Day.
The Consul General Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Humaid gave a speech at the function in which he pointed out to the achievements realised under the leadership of HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir in various fields, underlining the importance of relations between Qatar and the US, particularly the State of Texas.
Representative of the Senate Member for Texas Poker Morris and Sheila Jackson congratulated the Consul General on the occasion.
The function was attended by representatives of Texas, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, members of the diplomatic corps, a number of ranking personalities, physicians, directors of energy companies, businessmen as well as presidents and representatives of universities.
The reception was also attended by a number of Qatari patients who are receiving medical treatment in Houston, employees working in the gas and oil sectors, Qatari students in Houston and Arab nationals residing in Houston.
The Consul General of Qatar in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China Sultan bin Ali al-Khater has hosted a reception on the occasion of the National Day.
The function was attended by the Secretary of Justice Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung as a representative of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a number of officials and consuls of state accredited to the region.
The Consul General gave a speech about the friendly bilateral relations and the trade links between Qatar and Hong Kong.
For his part, the Minister of Justice, in a speech he gave, congratulated Qatar on the occasion.
In Singapore, the Qatari embassy celebrated Qatar’s National Day at Shangri-La Hotel. Qatar’s Acting Charge d’Affaires Radi Swed al-Ajmi highlighted in a speech the development and prosperity Qatar is witnessing under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, stressing the depth of ties between the two countries on the economic, cultural and political level.
For his part, the representative of the Singaporean government expressed his appreciation of the level of bilateral ties between the two countries.
A group of senior government officials from Singapore’s Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Interior attended the ceremony along with members of parliament, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, businessmen, dignitaries, and a number of Qatari and GCC citizens.
Qatar’s Acting charge d’affaires to El Salvador Ahmed bin Mohamed al-Horr held a reception ceremony on the occasion of the National Day at InterContinental San Salvador Hotel.
The ceremony drew the attendance of El Salvador’s ministers of defence, education, and labour and social welfare as well as a group of senior government and municipality officials in addition to heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, businessmen, academics and Arab expats. 
The embassy organised a photo exhibition on the National Day to highlight Qatar’s monuments in the past and present.
In the Australian capital of Canberra, Qatar’s embassy held a reception ceremony to mark the  National Day. A group of senior government and military officials and members of parliament took part in the ceremony along with Arab, GCC and foreign ambassadors, representatives of commerce chambers and media and academic institutions, Australia’s mufti, and leaders of Arab and Islamic expat communities.
Qatar’s charge d’affaires in Australia Mohamed Abdullah al-Jaber extended his warm congratulations and blessings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on the occasion of the National Day and pointed to Qatar’s achievements thanks to its wise leadership.
Al-Jaber stressed that celebrating Qatar’s National Day in Australia strengthens the deep bilateral ties, voicing keenness on more mutual co-operation in all fields and adding that 2015 saw genuine growth in the Qatari-Australian ties.
Qatar’s acting charge d’affaires in Bosnia and Herzegovina Abdulla Abdulhadi bin Naifa held a reception ceremony on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day at Hotel Bristol Sarajevo.
Bosnian parliament speaker, chief of staff, agriculture and irrigation minister attended the ceremony along with a group of senior government and religious officials, heads of accredited diplomatic missions and international organisations, businessmen, university presidents, journalists and public figures.
Qatar’s ambassador to Egypt Saif bin Muqaddam al-Bueinain, who is also Qatar’s Permanent Delegate to the Arab League, has hosted in Cairo a reception on the occasion of the National Day.
The reception was attended among others by Arab League Secretary General Dr Nabil al-Arabi and Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol ambassador Nabil Habashi.
Al-Bueinain extended sincere congratulations to the HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir on the occasion, wishing Qatar further progress and prosperity under its wise leadership.
The ambassador pointed out to the current renaissance taking place in the State of Qatar on all political, economic, social and sports levels that HH the Father Emir laid their foundations since he assumed power in 1995 and its march had been completed by HH the Emir with steadily steps and confident vision to reflect aspirations of the Qatari people in achieving further prosperity and well-being and progress.
Qatar’s embassy in Kuwait hosted a reception on the occasion.
The reception was attended by a host of Sheikhs and officials, ministers, current and former members of parliament and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Kuwait, governors, dignitaries, citizens and a number of Qatari citizens and media representatives and residents in the State of Kuwait.
Qatari Ambassador to Kuwait Hamad bin Ali al-Hinzab received congratulations of Kuwait’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al-Mohamed, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq al-Ghanim, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohamed al-Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah, Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled al-Jarallah and former National Assembly Speaker Ahmad al-Saadoun and a large number of sheikhs and ministers.
In a press statement sheikhs and ministers extended congratulations to HH the Emir, Qatari government and people.
Al-Mohamed said that the Qatar National Day is a celebration for each Gulf state, congratulating HH the Emir, the Qatari government and people, while Sheikh Sabah described Qatari - Kuwaiti relations as deep-rooted and distinguished, wishing Qatar further security, stability, growth and prosperity. He announced that he will leave for Doha next month to attend Kuwaiti-Qatari committee meeting to follow up all aspects of co-operation in all fields.
He said that the two sides are keen to open new horizons for co-operation in all fields, praising the progress and development witnessed in Qatar in recent years.
For his part,  al-Jarallah congratulated the Qatari government, people on the occasion of Qatar National Day, praising the close and brotherly relations that combine the two countries.
Qatar’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer al-Thani held yesterday a reception on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
The reception was attended among others by Governor of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. It was also attended by the ambassadors of Arab and Islamic states and foreign countries accredited to the Kingdom and a number of diplomats and Saudi dignitaries and Qatari students.
Qatar’s ambassador to China Sultan bin Salmeen al-Mansouri held in Beijing at Four Seasons Hotel a reception on the occasion of the National Day .
In his speech, the Ambassador lauded distinguished ties between Qatar and China, emphasising the historic visit paid by HH the Emir to China in November 2014 during which HH the Emir signed a number of important agreements that culminated in the announcement of strategic partnership transforms ties between the two countries to a new level.
In Moscow, the embassy of Qatar hosted a reception on the occasion of Qatar National Day at the Four Seasons Hotel.
The function was attended by Russian dignitaries representing the Russian Parliament and the Duma, the Foreign Ministry, officials from other Russian ministries and government, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in Moscow and a group of Arab journalists.
Ilyas Umakhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation also attended the function.
In his address on the occasion the ambassador referred to the comprehensive development led by HH the Emir which aims at transforming Qatar into an advanced stage capable of realising a sustainable development to become a springboard and a map of action towards prosperity, sustainable growth, equal opportunities, a state of prosperity social justice and supremacy or law.
