The new road includes one lane in each direction. The existing road will be closed as well as part of Al Haidan Street which leads to Al Khor Coastal Roundabout.
The closure is required to facilitate the installation of a new signal-controlled intersection near Al Khor Compound of Independent Schools for Girls, in addition to the construction works to develop the infrastructure, storm water drainage network and road network in the area.
The closure of the old road will start tomorrow (January 30) and will last about six months. During the period, drivers can use the alternative local roads in the area (as shown on the attached map).
