Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) has celebrated International Women’s Day to mark the accomplishments of women employees.
QIC has stressed in a press statement that being progressive in its outlook, the company recognises and lauds the contributions made by its women employees towards the success of the firm and the insurance
sector on a broader front.
Ali al-Fadala, senior deputy group president and CEO of QIC Group, said: “At QIC, we acknowledge women’s important contribution and participation in our business and the role they play in the society and economy. We take pride in supporting and inspiring women to become future leaders in their respective fields.
“We endeavour to empower women by appointing them in leadership positions in various departments at QIC. We support them in realising their true potential and we acknowledge them for their enterprise and sincere dedication.”
Layla al-Jaida, vice-president, at QIC’s retail arm QIC Insured, has been serving the company for over a decade. She has been as an excellent role model and mentor to the younger generation of Qatari women who have later joined QIC, the statement notes.
Speaking on her accomplishments, al-Jaida said: “I’m truly humbled by all the appreciation I have received and hope that this serves as an inspiration for Qatari women to join the growing industry.”
