Qatar and the UK yesterday signed a co-operation agreement in the field of defence.
HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah and the UK Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon signed the agreement.
HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond.
Qatar’s ambassador in the United Kingdom Yusouf bin Ali al-Khater attended the signing ceremony along with the delegation that accompanied the Minister of State for Defence Affairs.
HE al-Attiyah met UK Prime Minister David Cameron on the occasion.
He also held separate meetings with the Chief of the Defence Staff Sir Nicholas Hutton, next Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General Gordon Messenger and Minister of State for Defence Procurement at the Ministry of Defence Philip Dunne.
Separately, HE al-Attiyah met the British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond.
They discussed co-operation between Qatar and the UK, particularly in the defence field.
