Quality Group International has announced its foray into the offshore technology field.
Shamsudheen Olakara, chairman, Quality Group International, unveiled the company’s new projects and plans at OTC 2016 (Offshore Technology Conference), which was organised by the US Commercial Service in Houston recently.
The company will be involved in fields such as the import of non-sparking safety tools, offshore maintenance, heavy hydraulics and fabrication works, Olakara said in Houston.
All the offshore technological projects of Quality Group International will be carried out in association with specialised American companies.
Olakara has held discussions on the new ventures with Laura Taylor-Kale, deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing at the US Department of Commerce; Steve Millar, international investment and trade specialist at the US Commercial Service; and Golda Agnazata, US Commercial Service assistant, Qatar.
“The offshore operations of the company will be in Qatar, in association with well-established American firms. Our discussions with companies like Scorpion, Unitech, Neuvatech, etc are in progress,’’ Olakara added.
The company’s offshore projects will be carried out under the Quality Engineering & Services and Quality Hydraulics, two major technical divisions in Qatar.
