Sudanese President Oman al-Bashir has issued a presidential decision to honour HE Qatar’s Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari with the Order of the Two Niles (First Class).
The decision came on the recommendation of the head of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Sudan in recognition of the efforts of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in support of the Islamic
dawah organisations in Sudan.
Sudan’s First Vice President Lt Gen Bakri Hassan Saleh awarded the Order to the Minister at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Fiqh Academy on Monday.
The First Vice President hailed the Qatari leadership’s supportive role for the security, stability and progress of Sudan, saying that Qatar’s establishment of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Sudan will largely contribute to expanding dawah activities and promoting the academy’s role in maintaining stability, unity and reconciliation in the country.
He underlined that the government and people of Sudan appreciate the Qatari efforts made at all levels, which reflect the strong and distinct relations between the two
countries.
For his part, HE the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs said his visit to Sudan comes in the course of the wise directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to further strengthen co-operation between dawah organisations in the two countries.
The Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s continued support and co-operation with the Islamic organisations and the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Sudan.
