The Minister of Public Health HE Dr. Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari on Sunday inaugurated the Rawdat Al-Khail Health Centre that will cater to the population of areas such as Fareej Abdul Aziz, Fareej Bin Mahmoud, Najma, Mansoura and Muntazah.
She also toured the facility and listened to the officials about the services offered at the new health centre.
Dr. Mariam Abdulmalik, managing director, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), several senior officials from the health sector and medical staff from PHCC were present on the occasion.
Al-Kuwari said that the new centre is part of a national strategy that aims to improve medical services and public health in general.
She also pointed out that a number of health projects that are being developed would take the health services to the best international health standard.
She added that the new centre with all the latest equipment would help provide high quality medical services.
According to Dr al-Kuwari, the health centre is part of an ambitious strategy to promote public health and raise the quality and efficiency of health services, according to the latest global practices.
The centre provides general services in addition to a number of special services. They include public clinics, vaccination clinic, non-communicable diseases clinics, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, dental clinic and a Medical Commission. Other services are ophthalmology, dermatology, mental health clinics, and health and wellness services.
Dr. Abdulmalik said that Rawdat Al-Khail health centre is a special achievement for PHCC in the development and improvement of healthcare provided to citizens and residents. She explained that the new centre provides medical services of a very high and sophisticated level according to the latest international medical standards.
Dr Abdulmalik added that the centre is focused on helping people to lead a healthy lifestyle by providing several facilities. According to her, the new centre provides physiotherapy sessions, food consultation, lessons on healthy cooking as well as other services for health promotion.
She explained that the centre is part of the development plans that PHCC aims to activate at various levels to provide a national strategy and the vision for Qatar to improve the individual and community health.
Dr Abdullah al-Nama, manager of Rawdat Al-Khail Health Centre, pointed out that it has already implemented the Clinical Information System whereby all the patient records are filed electronically and offers the services through appointment system.
Dr al-Nama added that the centre has 39 doctors, 85 nurses and 38 administrative employees. Rawdat Al-Khail has the capacity to provide services to about 150,000 patients. The centre caters to the population of the areas such as Fareej Abdul Aziz, Fareej Bin Mahmoud, Najma, Mansoura and Muntazah. The new health centre operates seven days a week from 7 am to 11 pm.
