The insects and rodents control unit in the Public Cleanliness Department, Doha Municipality, received 1,886 requests for pest control from various places within its jurisdiction in June.
Of these, 1,632 requests were approved and handled while 254 were cancelled. In a statement issued yesterday, the municipality said 542 requests were submitted through its iPhone application, 168 through its Android application, 181 through the website of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, 978 through staff at the counter and 17 by hand.
In addition, the municipality carried out 977 regular pest control operations, of which 844 pertained to rodents in residential and commercial buildings.
Meanwhile, the development and building permits section in the Technical Affairs Department at Al Shamal Municipality issued 56 building permits, building completion certificates and other related documents.
