QFCA appoints Haitham al-Salama as chief economic adviser

The Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) has appointed Dr Haitham al-Salama as its chief economic adviser. This newly created role sits within the chief executive officer’s office, where al-Salama will work on developing the economic strategy of the centre.He has more than 10 years of previous experience, spanning policy and management within governmental and non-profit organisations. Prior to joining the QFC, he was director of science policy and management with Sidra Medical and Research Centre, a member of the Qatar Foundation.Al-Salama holds an MBBS from King Saud University; a Master of Arts in Education and an MBA from Stanford University, US, and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, US, where he focused on international affairs.“The QFC has once again attracted top Qatari talent due to its excellent reputation within Qatar’s business community. People are our most valuable asset in diversifying the economy and developing the private sector in Qatar, and I am delighted to welcome Haitham to the QFC family,” QFCA chief executive Yousuf Mohamed al-Jaida said.
