The Islamic Dawah Organisation has opened an investment endowment of four shops in the Chadian capital N’djamena at a cost of QR117,000 donated by a Qatari philanthropist, as part of the “Building Endowments” project, which the organisation is implementing in African countries.Director General of the Islamic Dawah Organisation Office in Qatar, Hammad Abdul-Qader al-Sheikh, said that the profits of this endowment will be spent, as recommended by the endower, on the poor, the needy, Holy Qur’an teachers, orphans and widows. He stressed the organisation’s keenness to implement projects that help shifting from direct sponsorship for orphans and the poor to productive investment projects, the benefits from which are not only limited to individuals, but to the overall society while contributing to the economic and social development. He noted that such investment projects generate steady income that ensures the continuation of aid to beneficiaries, provides many essential goods and services needed by those communities, and contributes to the reduction of unemployment by providing job opportunities for youth.
