HE the Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani held yesterday a round of official talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Chief negotiator for the Syrian opposition Riyad Hijab attended the meeting.
They discussed the latest developments in Syria, particularly in east Aleppo.
They also discussed the outcomes of meetings in Ankara and Moscow.
The meeting also focused on co-ordinating efforts to provide humanitarian aid to civilians in areas under siege and other Syrian cities.
The two sides exchanged views on the future of the Syrian crisis and the means to find a political solution in line with Geneva 1 and UN Security Council resolutions related to it.
The two sides also reiterated their commitment to supporting the Syrian people.
They also stressed on the importance of reaching a permanent ceasefire and guaranteeing the safety of civilians in line with international resolutions.
The two sides then renewed their call to the international community to assume its responsibility towards the humanitarian crisis in Syria and protect civilians from shelling done by the Syrian regime and its allies, as well as the criminal practices conducted by terrorist organisations.
They stressed on the importance of achieving international justice and holding the perpetrators of crimes accountable.
