The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior met the executive team of Qatar Petroleum and was briefed by President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum Saad Sherida al-Kaabi on the latest developments in the global energy markets, and on QP's important achievements during the past two years, which included restructuring and control over expenditure.
Al-Kaabi also gave an overview of a number of decisions and actions taken by Qatar Petroleum to strengthen its position in the global energy industry and competitive edge to achieve its vision of becoming one of the best national oil companies in the world. The most important decisions were achieving the integration of Qatar Petroleum International and Tasweeq into Qatar Petroleum, and the establishment of North Oil Company to develop and operate Al Shaheen field. They also included the integration of the activities of RasGas and Qatargas operating companies under a single entity, named Qatargas, which will operate all of the ventures currently being operated by both entities.
Then, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior toured the headquarters of Qatar Petroleum where he was briefed on the various facilities and services, which include meeting and conference rooms, health club and other services.
The Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts exerted by Qatar Petroleum and its management to strengthen Qatar's position on the global oil and gas map and also gave directives to increase these efforts for more sustainable development.
