Fifty One East, one of Qatar’s leading department stores, has brought sought-after Lebanese designer Tony Ward’s Spring/Summer 2017 Haute Couture Collection to Qatar following his success at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Ward’s styles are popular with actresses, models, singers and women who want to add glamour to their formal official occasions.
His refined feminine dresses are synonymous with red-carpet events and loved by stars such as Sharon Stone, Beyonce Knowles, Raya Abi Rached, Rita Ora, Nicole Scherzinger, Carla Haddad, Annette Benning, Samira Said and Carine Gharawi.
Fifty One East honoured the designer’s work with an enthralling catwalk fashion show and two-day trunk show in the presence of the designer himself, giving Qatar’s fashionistas a special introductory viewing of Ward’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection and enabling them to buy must-have pieces straight off the catwalk.
The store, the first to bring Tony Ward’s latest collection to the Middle East, held the event at their Lagoona Mall store in the presence of Qatar’s key social figures. Ward’s collection is a tribute to Aelia Eudocia, a Byzantine woman who refused to settle for injustice.
Ward brings together the splendour of Byzantine Era, and its captivating mix of bold colours with softened modern cuts that play on transparency. Crystals and precious stones are embroidered on garments made of lace, tulle and silk to create a feminine, timeless style that is extremely wearable.
Speaking about his special show at Fifty One East, designer Tony Ward, commented “I am honoured to have my collection displayed in Qatar, at a distinct fashion destination such as Fifty One East.
“I know the women of Qatar and the region have a great eye for unique detail and look to today’s current trends and vintage glamour of the past to seek inspiration, so it is with great pleasure to showcase the collection to an audience who appreciate fashion and artistry.”
Tony Ward’s collections are available exclusively at Fifty One East in Lagoona Mall.
