Foodies can now book their seats at the Qatar International Food Festival’s (QIFF) exclusive dining experiences via the participating hotels’ usual reservation platforms, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has said.
In a statement, QTA noted that chefs around the country are also preparing to show off their culinary mastery for the eight edition of the annual festival.
The special experiences for which advanced booking is recommended include the all-new QIFF Chef’s Table series and the returning festival favourite, Dinner in the Sky, brought to visitors by the Four Seasons Hotel Doha.
Dinner in the Sky allows diners to enjoy a three-course meal while enjoying a light spring breeze and elevated vistas of Doha.
Throughout the festival, the 22-seater table will take its perch in the sky every hour (between 4pm and 9pm on weekdays and between 4pm and 10pm on weekends) for 45 minutes at a time. Tickets cost QR500 per person and will be sold at the festival grounds.
Meanwhile, the series of Chef’s Table events will be held at select five-star hotel restaurants, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy special live cooking and dining experiences with internationally
-acclaimed chefs.
Some of these chefs include Nobu’s chef de cuisine Andrew Bozoki, Indian celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, and Jordanian chef Manal al-Alem, known as Queen of the Arabian Kitchen. The events will offer diners exclusive access to their favourite renowned chef, giving them rare glimpses into their cooking rituals and a seat on the dish’s journey from raw ingredients to decorated plates.
Some 12 to 20 seats are available per table and the per person cost ranges from QR280 to QR1,500.
“Through the different activities on offer both at the festival grounds and participating hotels and restaurants, QIFF is celebrating Qatar’s growing repertoire of fine dining experiences,” said Mashal Shahbik, festivals and tourism events director, QTA.
Four Seasons Hotel Doha’s food and beverage director Manuel Santos echoed Shahbik statement saying QIFF is a one of a kind event in the city that is highly anticipated by the local community.
“Dinner in the Sky will showcase our outstanding culinary experience and service, while our chefs will delight all food enthusiasts with their knowledge and exciting creations,” he said.
Other hotels participating in the QIFF Chef’s Table include Marsa-Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Qatar, The St Regis Doha, Melia Doha, Marriott Hotel Doha, Sharq Village & Spa, and Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel.
