The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME)’s Building Licences Complex has approved three new architectural designs for temporary workers’ accommodation.
The move is aimed at easing the procedures for Qatari developers who have been allocated plots and save their time, money and effort, according to a press statement.
The director of the complex, Tariq Juma al-Tamimi, said co-ordination has been maintained with the General Directorate of Civil Defence in this regard to get their approval on the designs.
The building permit will be issued directly through the municipality without any delay.
However, in case there is any modification of the model by the developer, prior approval of the entities concerned should be obtained first, it was observed.
The new designs comply with the conditions of various service entities in the country.
Besides, the space allotted for each worker and the necessary services have also been taken into consideration in the models, in accordance with the relevant Qatari law. The models can accommodate 204-214 workers.
Developers can provide consultative engineering and site plan services for the Civil Defence, the statement adds.
The designs are available on the MME website with three different codes: A65265, B65265 and C65265.
