Warmer temperatures have signaled the onset of the summer season and for those who want to enjoy more of the outdoors, there is still time to catch the merry and fun-filled activities at the Porto Arabia Festival.

The three-day event, which concludes today (April 29), offers a variety of world-class, family-oriented entertainment from 4pm to 9pm along the stretch of the Porto Arabia Boardwalk from 2 La Croisette to 6 La Croisette inside The Pearl Qatar.
Children and their families will enjoy the amenities at the festival such as stage performances, an animal petting area, a wide range of carnival-themed games, and edutainment activities.
The stage performances are a huge attraction, and audiences will be thrilled by a stick juggling act, magic show, and acrobat exhibition.
The shows will be held at 6pm and 8pm at 6 La Croisette.
Animal lovers will also enjoy the petting area, headlined by bunny rabbits, cute ducklings, and colourful parrots.
Pony rides are also available to small children just beside the animal petting area.
Other attractions include drawing and colouring, as well as arts and crafts.
Visitors at the festival are also treated to roving, interactive shows, and will get the chance to take selfies and family portraits with stilt walkers, fairy tale characters, and several other caricaturists.

A 'wizard' wows an audience with his balloon creations.

The festival offers other amenities like a mini football field, inflatable children’s play area, as well as carnival games, including balloon darts, mini basketball hoops, and ‘throw the cups’ and throw the rings’ challenge.
A parent visiting the event said the festival gives his family the opportunity to bond with each other though outdoor and sports-related activities.
“It’s good for families to interact with each other by engaging in healthy fun and some sports activities.
These days, children are hooked on video games so, this event gives them the chance to go outside the house and be physically active,” he said.
He added: “I think 2 La Croisette to 6 La Croisette is about a kilometre stretch so a tour of the festival venue could be good exercise for the parents.
As a frequent visitor to The Pearl, I see a lot of residents jogging or doing some brisk walking along the boardwalk.
Visitors can do that as well.”
According to UDC, the Porto Arabia Festival is part of a series of initiatives that aim to enhance and promote the country’s tourism industry by organising events that would attract families and other tourists from the Gulf and other countries to Qatar.
