The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced the launch of online services for commercial agencies.

The services, which are accessible through the ministry’s website, include the registration of a commercial agent or agency, amendment of commercial agency records, renewal of a commercial agency and elimination of a commercial agency’s or agent’s records, the MEC has said in a press statement.

Other services include the issuance of a registration certificate for a commercial agent or agency. A copy of the required certificate will be sent to the applicant's e-mail.

“The launch of these services comes as part of the ministry's efforts to continuously improve and develop its services in a bid to upgrade the business services system in Qatar and streamline the delivery of services to the public,” the statement noted.

With the availability of the new services, the submission of applications and their review will be conducted electronically to ensure service quality and also make sure that requests are completed within the scheduled period, the MEC has stressed. “The services will enable the public to easily complete the procedures without visiting the ministry, which will save clients’ time and efforts,” it added.

The ministry has launched a number of smart electronic services designed to significantly improve the quality of services offered to clients, including consumers, investors and members of the public with an interest in economic affairs.
