To kick off its 2017 Ramadan corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, Ooredoo volunteers surprised people walking along Doha’s Corniche on Tuesday with a special gift of water and dates to break their fast for Iftar.
The volunteers, who represented some of the business units across the company, were stationed at the end of the Corniche near West Bay to distribute the gifts at sunset.
Ooredoo said in a statement that “this act of kindness is the official launch of the company’s 2017 Ramadan CSR campaign,” which, this year, will be communicated under the theme of ‘Hand-In-Hand’.
Ooredoo has a host of important community initiatives planned this holy month, which the company hopes to inspire customers “to join in with the good deeds.”
Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, community and public relations director at Ooredoo Qatar, said: “This year, our activities will not only give back to those who need it most, but will encourage everyone to get involved in any way they can to truly join in the spirit of the holy month.”
Customers can follow Ooredoo’s Ramadan Hand-in-Hand campaign via its Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter page and the hashtag #ShareAMoment.
