Eid Charity Foundation, in collaboration with AlWehda Medical Group, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha and Yoga In Doha, organised an Iftar gathering for orphans on May 30 at the Eid Charity headquarters.

The initiative took place under the title ‘Smile of Ramadan’.

The event began with an opening statement by Ali al-Sewady, general manager of Eid Charity, who welcomed all the visitors to the Iftar gathering. Then, a motivational speech was given by Dr Abdul Raheem to boost the orphans' self-esteem and help them become more optimistic as well as prepared for obstacles.

Yoga In Doha raised awareness among the orphans on self-improvement techniques, including managing breathing and concentration.

AlWehda Medical Group provided a short dental workshop for orphans to educate them about healthy nutrition habits during Ramadan and introduce them to the causes of major dental diseases.

The children also had the opportunity to participate in diagnostics and learn how to interpret them.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha participated with chefs and staff who served a luxury Iftar and provided a “perfect treat for the audience”. The orphans, on their part, were happy with the unique Iftar experience.

The gathering “strengthened the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood between the invited orphans and audience, including women and children, through fun activities that allowed them to interact with one another in a friendly atmosphere”, according to a press statement. Gifts were also distributed among the orphans.

This Ramadan gathering is considered to be one of many important social events planned as part of the partnership between the organisers to effectively co-operate to serve the Qatar community, the statement adds.
