Aster Hospital, the first hospital of Aster DM Healthcare in Qatar, has started several services, including outpatient and night clinics.

All inpatient services will be open within a month or so, an official has said.
The hospital recently received the final approval to begin operations from the Ministry of Public Health.
Speaking to Gulf Times, Dr Sameer Moopen, chief executive officer of Aster DM Healthcare in Qatar, said the hospital will be a 50-bedded one. “There are three operation theatres, an intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care units, a gastroenterology unit and day surgery. It has spacious private rooms, consultation rooms, a 24-hour lab and pharmacy. We hope to provide the best and quality services for patients.”
According to Nikhil Joseph, senior manager at Aster DM Healthcare – Qatar, the hospital started providing night clinic services yesterday. “We will provide services such as general medicine, paediatrics and gynaecology at the night clinic. We will need some more time to be fully operational and all the inpatient services will be open within a month or so,” he explained.
“The outpatient facility is fully operational. There are about 15 doctors working in the department. All the staff members have been recruited and the hospital will have more than 200 staff when fully operational. We hope to have the official opening sometime in September,” continued the official.
“We provide all surgical specialties except cardiac surgery at the new hospital. These include general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, ENT surgery, gynaecology services and delivery as well as emergency services,” he noted.
According to Joseph, the hospital is equipped with an advanced MRI unit and CT scan facility, which offer “a unique, soothing patient experience”. He also noted that the process of linking medical insurance for the inpatient facility usage is under way.
“We have approval from almost all the leading insurance firms. Now, we have to submit to them the official price list from the Ministry of Public Health. Once the prices are approved, all the insurance facilities will be available for visitors,” he added.
The hospital is located near the Old Airport signal facing D-Ring Road.
