As yet another measure to keep the supplies to the country intact, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has launched a new direct maritime line between the Qatar and India, the “India Qatar Express Service” (IQX).

The line links Hamad Port in Qatar with Mundra (Gujarat) and Nhava Sheva Port (Maharashtra) in India, the Minister of Transport and Communications (MoTC) said in a release.

At present, the vessels MV Hansa Magdeburg and MV Hansa Duburgh are conducting the service.  The vessels will be visiting Hamad Port every Friday and the first shipment will have 710 containers. The capacity can be hiked as per the future requirement, MoTC informed.
