Ooredoo has described its Ramadan corporate social responsibility campaign, Hand-in-Hand, as the “most successful ever”.The initiative included a series of activities for the holy month and Eid al-Fitr in which the company worked to encourage togetherness in Qatar. With the Hand-In-Hand campaign, which was followed via #ShareAMoment on social media, Ooredoo visited a number of organisations across Qatar, including the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre, the Hamad General Hospital children’s ward and Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care (Ihsan). To help share the spirit of togetherness and community, Ooredoo also sponsored several sporting events, visited Katara - the Cultural Village Ramadan cannon and petrol stations in Doha to distribute Iftar boxes to people to break their fast.To continue this spirit and to highlight “the great leadership of Qatar” during Eid, Ooredoo projected Qatar’s flag on its iconic HQ1 tower in West Bay alongside a picture of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. The company also distributed free T-shirts on the Corniche to show support for His Highness the Emir, whose portrait was painted by local artist Ahmed bin Majed al-Maadheed.Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We are delighted that this year’s Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr campaign has had such a positive response and bonded so many different people across the country together. We’ve given back to our customers, helped highlight the amazing work the organisations in Qatar and encouraged solidarity and community spirit within our country. Thank you to all the Ooredoo volunteers who helped achieve this and everyone who came to see us and be part of our celebrations.”Ooredoo has pledged to continue to support its customers throughout the year with a host of local CSR initiatives.
