A 12-year-old Latvian girl was killed on Monday when a tree uprooted by a storm struck a tent near the Swiss capital Berne, police said.
A woman was also injured in the accident in Boenigen, a town south-east of Berne, police added.
Southern Switzerland has been hit by torrents of rain in recent days.
Local authorities blocked roads due to mudslides triggered by the wet weather in the south-eastern canton of Graubuenden. Some 50 people were airlifted out of the area with helicopters, police said.
