AFG College with the University of Aberdeen has launched second series of student admissions open days as the academic year 2017/2018 begins next month.
The events were held at the AFG College Campus in the Al Mamoura district, recently.
Qatari and non-Qatari prospective students, attended the events, many of whom signed up to the University of Aberdeen’s bachelor degrees in business management and accountancy and finance.
Senior staff members of the university along with AFG College staff, provided insights into the degree programmes and offered advice on prospective students suitability for admissions.
Brian Buckley, principal, AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, said: “I have been impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the prospective students who wish to study with us from September 2017. We are proud to offer the first UK university on a dedicated campus in Doha. We also look forward to welcoming the University of Aberdeen faculty who will be teaching on the programmes”.
Dominic Milne, the deputy head, International Office at the University of Aberdeen, delivered presentations on the background and history of the university and information on study options available at the Doha campus.
AFG College with the University of Aberdeen is a newly established university partnership offering undergraduate degrees from the university, specialising in business management and accountancy and finance.
The courses will commence in September and are offered over four years, with opportunities for qualified candidates to enter year three of their chosen course with evidence of previous study such as the higher diploma from the College of North Atlantic Qatar (CNAQ) or relevant qualifications from Community College Qatar (CCQ).
There are limited spaces for the September intake and the college principal and the University of Aberdeen senior academics are encouraging prospective applicants to apply before September 10 to ensure admission.
