The Qatar Quarries and Building Materials Company announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oman Holding Company to set up a new firm in Al-Minazah to manage new quarries for the extraction of Al-Jabro in Oman.
The process of registering the company is expected to be completed in the coming months, and initial operation of the first quarry private company outside the State of Qatar is expected to start by the end of the year.
Mohammed Ali al-Sulaiti, chairman of Qatar Quarries and Building Materials Company, said the quarry was built to meet the needs of the Qatari market.
Al-Sulaiti said during the signing ceremony that Qatar Quarries and Building Materials Company and Manateq Company will be supporting the new firm to facilitate the imports of the necessary materials from the new quarry to the destination sites in the country.
Al-Sulaiti stressed that Qatar Quarries Company is always keen on its continuous expansion and to fulfil the national role to support the industrial and real estate development in the country, especially as Qatar is organising a major event like hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He attributed the achievements made by the company to His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who continuously supported the company at its various stages of development.
