The 2009 finalists Serbia beat Hungary 86-78 to make it to the final eight for the fourth straight continental championship.
Bogdan Bogdanovic collected 17 points and six assists while Ognjen Kuzmic picked up 17 points and 10 rebounds for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and 2016 Olympics runners-up.
“Our players are really focused, maybe even too focused,” Serbia coach Aleksandar Djordjevic said.
“They should just enjoy the moment, enjoy the competition, enjoy the quarter-finals, a lot of them are (playing it) for the first time in a competition like this, or in different roles. I believe we have what is needed, we just need to leave it on the floor.”
With the win, Serbia set up a quarter-finals date with Italy on Wednesday.
Hungary’s first EuroBasket since 1999 came to an end despite 22 points from Zoltan Perl. Hungary star Adam Hanga was held to just one point.
Another final eight showdown is set as Latvia blasted Montenegro 100-68 and will next take on Slovenia on Tuesday in their second straight appearance at this stage.
Janis Timma paced Latvia with 21 points while Kristaps Porzingis finished with 19 points and Janis Strelnieks chipped in 12 points.
Bojan Dubljevic tallied 21 points for Montenegro while Nikola Vucevic had 16 points and nine rebounds.
The other two rounds of 16 match-ups later had reigning champions Spain taking on hosts Turkey and Croatia facing 2007 champions Russia.
Earlier Dennis Schroeder and Daniel Theis combined for 43 points as Germany upset 2013 champions France 84-81 to reach the EuroBasket quarter-finals for the first time since 2007, joined by Slovenia, Italy and surprise winner Greece.
Germany came back from an 11-point deficit and were led by 22 points and seven rebounds from Theis while NBA star guard Schroeder collected 21 points and eight assists.
“Dennis and Daniel were outstanding. Both guys were just super solid tonight. We feel really good about it, we’re excited to look forward to that next game,” German coach Chris Fleming said.
In the quarter-finals, the Germans will play either reigning champions Spain or hosts Turkey, who face off in the round of 16 on Sunday.
France got 27 points from Evan Fournier, while Boris Diaw chipped in 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the loss, which kept them from the final eight for the first time since 1997.
The 2005 champions, Greece, pulled off the other surprise of the night in Istanbul, with Kostas Sloukas scoring 21 points in a 77-64 victory over the 2013 and 2015 runners-up, Lithuania.
Sloukas nailed five three-pointers as Greece made 46 per cent of their shots from outside, compared to just 25 per cent for Lithuania.
The Greeks only beat Iceland and Poland in finishing fourth in group play, but came out strong against Lithuania, the winners of Group A. Greece will next take on Croatia or Russia.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 20 points, but they were not enough for Lithuania, who failed to reach the top eight for just the second time in the last eight FIBA EuroBaskets.
Italy made it three quarter-finals berths in a row as a strong first half carried the two-time champions to a 70-57 win over Finland.
Marco Belinelli scored 14 of his game-high 22 points in the first half, while Luigi Datome had 13 of his 15 in the first half, and Nicolo Melli picked up all 10 of his points before the break.
