A highly qualified team of legal experts and specialists are classifying the received applications on a daily basis to ensure that all the necessary documents and information are in place, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported on Friday.
The committee received 44 applications from different individuals within a week after the Eid al-Adha holidays for losses incurred due to the blockade.A total of 28 complaints were related to the right to education, safe investment, travel, and contact with family members. Majority of the complaints were regarding issues with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, which have declared the blockade against Qatar.Besides, the committee is yet to receive the applications, through Qatar Chamber, of the foreign companies, which were harmed due to the land, sea and air blockade, especially from those working in export and import and other related areas. Earlier, the committee held a meeting with a British law firm, which offered its consultative and support services, in addition to other international and local law firms. The losses of Qataris in particular amounted to millions of Riyals with Saudi Arabia and the UAE denying them access to their real estate and properties there. Other losses include dismissal of Qatari students from their education institutes at the countries of the blockade, denying them the opportunity to complete their studies. Some others complained of close family ties being severed due to the blockade.
