Qatar, Turkey discuss military ties

HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met in Doha yesterday with Turkish Minister of National Defence Nurettin Canikli. They discussed relations between Qatar and Turkey as well as efforts to strengthen co-operation in defence and military fields besides increasing the exchange of military training and experiences to serve the common interests of the two brotherly countries. The meeting also discussed the current situation in the Gulf and its repercussions on the region, in addition to the latest developments in the Syrian crisis, and the efforts of both countries in the fight against terrorism and extremism. HE Dr al-Attiyah hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the Turkish delegation.
