Qatar-India trade ties in focus

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani received a written message from the Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Suresh Prabhu, concerning bilateral relations and means of boosting them, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields. The message was delivered by Indiau2019s ambassador to Qatar P Kumaran during his meeting with minister of economy and commerce yesterday. Qatar and India have a number of bilateral trade and investment agreements, including an agreement on economic and technical co-operation signed on 19 April 1984 in New Delhi and the agreement on the protection and promotion of mutual investments, signed on 7 April 1999 in the Indian capital city. The trade exchange between Qatar and India in 2016 amounted to approximately QR31.2bn. India is the third biggest trading partner of Qatar.
