The Foreign Ministry has completed the electronic linking of 97 diplomatic and consular missions abroad with the ministry’s headquarters.Qatar’s diplomatic missions can now use all of the ministry’s internal electronic systems effectively and safely without access to the Internet, the ministry said in a statement, adding this was a major achievement in terms of speed and accuracy.The ministry said the project was launched in 2016 as part of its strategic plan to develop its work system and provide protection for its various electronic systems and is the largest technological project in the history of the ministry.To complement this achievement, the information systems department also launched websites for 97 Qatari diplomatic missions.The websites provide accurate and updated information about Qatar and its diplomatic relations and reflect the ministry’s keenness to facilitate access to the information and services it provides to the public and to convey updated information about the activities of the missions abroad.Among the 97 diplomatic missions are Algeria, Amman, Ankara, Astana, Asuncion, Athens, Baku, Bandar Seri Begawan, Bangkok, Beijing, Beirut, Belgrade, Berlin, Bern, Bishkek, Brasilia, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Canberra, Caracas, Chisinau, Colombo, Dhaka, Djibouti, Dushanbe, Geneva, The Hague, Hanoi, Havana, Hong Kong, Houston, Islamabad, Istanbul, Jakarta, Karachi, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Kiev, Los Angeles, Lima, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Manila, Mexico, Mogadishu, Montevideo, Mumbai, Muscat, Nairobi, Naypyidaw, New Delhi, Nicosia, Nouakchott and New York.
