Planet Venus will reach the Aphelion point (farthest point) in its orbit around the sun at 8pm Tuesday, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has said.
At that point, Venus will be around 109mn km from the sun’s centre, according to a statement issued jointly by QCH director Dr Mohamed al-Ansari and noted astronomer Dr Beshir Marzouk.
The setting time of Venus will be shortly after sunset (by a few minutes) in the Qatar sky on Tuesday. Consequently, people in Qatar will not have the chance to observe Venus over the western horizon after sunset, the statement notes.
Venus reaches the Aphelion point in its orbit around the sun every 225 days, and the next time it does so will be on September 5, according to Dr Marzouk.
